Each year the A.I.S.B.L. organises a residential musical and vocal training weekend. This training weekend takes place at the start of the year. The artistic director prepares the choristers for the works of the season to come. This weekend also provides an opportunity for the new members to get to know their colleagues in the choir.
The residential element of the weekends allows the chorus members to get to know each other and for the new members to make friends over an extended period. The training involves 12 hours of study and rehearsals over a period of two days. The rehearsals are focused primarily on the concerts of the new season and centred on vocal technique, artistic development, musicality and interpretation.
The Saturday evening is normally dedicated to a café-concert evening. This amusing evening enables members who wish to share their hidden talents through word or song.
