An evening of amazing spectacle, horsemanship and music to the accompaniment of one of the greatest composers of all time, Beethoven! To know more...
With musical accompaniment by the EU Choir, the Soloists of the Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel and the Orchestral Ensemble of Brussels under the baton of Jacques Vanherenthals, the spectacle of the Cadre Noir de Saumur is performed along with one of the greatest composers of all time: Ludwig van Beethoven

The famous French National Horse riding School in Saumur, “Le Cadre Noir”, will give two performances at the Brussels Expo on 22 and 23 November 2013 accompanied by the European Union Choir, Soloists from the Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel and the Orchestral Ensemble of Brussels under the baton of Jacques Vanherenthals.
Linked historically with the town of Saumur in Maine-en Loire, the Cadre Noir de Saumur constitutes a corps of elite French cavalry men in the tradition of the horse riding academy founded in Saumur at the end of the 16th century at the behest of Henry IV, King of France. Horse riding in the French tradition, of which the Cadre Noir is the most notable example, has been added to the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage since 2011.

In 2008, during the last visit to Brussels, the Cadre Noir de Saumur was accompanied by the American soprano Julia Migenes as well as the European Union Choir and the Orchestral Ensemble of Brussels.

As a spectacle combining horses and classical music it delights those who appreciate excellence and precision. The two evenings will be an opportunity to discover the best in sport and equestrian display.

The various scenes of the Cadre Noir, on which the reputation of this prestigious institution from Saumur is based, will be performed during these two exceptional evenings.

The performances will take place on 22 and 23 November 2013 at the Brussels Expo.
